Brigitte Macron kicks off her heels to join Japan’s First Lady for a bonsai plant workshop in Tokyo 

France‘s First Lady stepped out in head-to-toe blue as she met with Japan‘s First Lady Akie Abe in Tokyo today, but kicked off her matching heels for the occasion.

Brigitte Macron, 66, stunned in a sleek royal blue dress with zip shoulder detail shoulders, during a workshop of Japanese ‘Bonsai’ culture in Shikou-sou. 

Akie Abe, 57, was  similarly dressed in a knee length white dress, which she later paired with beige heels.

The duo appeared in good spirits as they experimented with a number of plants and heard from experts.

Brigitte wore her hair styled in a neat side-parting and completed the look with subtle makeup, for an effortlessly polished look.   

Joining Lady Akie Abe in kicking her shoes off, Brigitte seemed delighted to have the opportunity to spend time together ahead of the G20 summit.

Later on the two First Lady’s took a tour of the grounds, with their heels back on, as they admired the trees in the gardens.

Brigitte Macron and her husband French President Emmanuel Macron, are set to spend four days in Japan as part of an official visit. This year will be the first time that Japan hosts the leaders of the G20.

While the leaders will meet in Osaka, a number of other ministerial meetings will also take place at eight different locations throughout Japan.

Brigitte’s visit to Japan come just days after she welcomed Princess Mary of Denmark to Paris.

The pair spent a day exploring the city with visits to an art gallery and conference in addition to welcoming the Royal into the official residence of the Macron couple.   

The French presidencies busy week of engagements in Japan is set to conclude with the European summit in Brussels.
